Well, today’s my birthday…. the big 4-0 … /sigh.    actually it turned out pretty good,  i finally got the lightstands that I’ve been waiting on, so now I’ve got all the pieces I need for my portable studio

and to celebrate, i took these.   so enjoy.   I need to go get a beer now!

I just got my set of Radio poppers in the mail!  (/em giggles like an anime schoolgirl)  and a bunch of other accessories. I’m still waiting on the umbrellas and stands though.  I took this to play around and get a feel for the settings.  I kind of like it

So,  What is all this about?   Why have I spent time and money to build this little corner of the world?  The short answer is – I have no idea!

Thats not entirely true,  I DO have a few ideas

• A Photoblog to show off my pictures as I learn and hopefully drive traffic to my flickr account   -  Comments are ALWAYS appreciated – hint, hint
• I’m turning 40 in a couple weeks and just got laid off from my job.  I could use it to chronicle the slow decent into madness thats sure to come.
• I have a dream of using this “time away from work” to just grab my camera, have someone take care of my cat, and hitting the road.  Sort of a Jack Kerouac meets mid-life crisis kind of thing.  But that’s the least likely thing to happen.

That’s really all i have at the moment.  so I’ll leave it at that.
